I have one that I love. We rotate hosting, and the host picks the book [ Reply | More ]

Did you all know each other beforehand, or were there new faces? [ Reply | More ]

I had all new faces, I just moved and needed new friends. Posted on Craigslist, said that it was for women only, and screened out crazies. It worked amazingly well. In my old town, I was in one where 4 acquaintances each invited another friend, that was nice because no one knew everyone. [ Reply | More ]

Call the New York State Commissioner of Book Clubs, Literature and Literacy Affairs for a guidebook. Then fill out the and become a certfied book club organize and promoter. Then call your friends to let them know that. Make sure you have a plan in place for what the club will do and where it will meet. [ Reply | More ]

I have been in a book club with very good friends for about a year now. It's a great way to stay in touch & at the same time keep your brain from turning to mush!Whoever has the next birthday picks the book & hosts for the night. It also helps me to open up my horizons since I would never pick a lot of the books on my own.At first we were doing one book a month, but that was a little stressful,so now it's about every 6 weeks or so.
