i would check this out if I were you. It may not be a disability but you want to rule this out. [ Reply | More ]

NP: Could be the teacher isn't great or DS just doesn't click with teacher for whatever reason. Do any other parents have similar issues? A friend of my DS's is the same--awful at school and (according to his parents) good at home (although I've never witnessed that). [ Reply | More ]

get it checked out, but he's three... I wouldn't worry too much. Many 3yo are just not ready for school. [ Reply | More ]

my son was having issues w/ behavior, but pushing w/ other kids, and it turns out to sensory issues. he is 4 - he gets overwhelmed and doesn't know how to act, so he acts out. [ Reply | More ]

oops- didn't finish post. he now goes for occupational therapy, and is learning to express himself - say he needs quiet time, or needs his space. and things are much better. and it's not a learning disability. he is extremely smart. so i suggest reading some books - the spirited child is very good - which sort of pointed me in the direction of sensory issues. it was only a small mention in the book, but then i looked into it more, and sort of self diagnosed it, and then got him evaluated. yes - a large, active classroom can be overwhelming for children with sensory integration issues. The issues don't show up the same way at home because it is a completely different environment. [ Reply | More ]

so actually it was not fake "sensory issues" but you just needed a professional to show you how to discipline/redirect his normal 4 yo behavior [ Reply | More ]
