Moms, talk to me. How old is your db (baby, not kid) and how long do they sleep at night? My nearly 8 mo sleeps from 8-10 hours straight, and I guess that's good, if I go to sleep at 7:30! I would give my right arm not to wake up at 4:40 am. (sorry to post on toddler too, but i wanted some responses) [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

put him to bed later. Sleeping 8-10 hrs at 8mos is really good, but if the schedule isn't working for you, a later bedtime will [ Reply | More ]

I disagree. For us (3 yo and 17 mo), late bedtimes just mean cranky children the next day. They still wake up at the same time, but having slept much less. However, you could always give it a try. [ Reply | More ]

np: this has been my experience too. both of my kids get up at 5:30 regardless of bedtime, so I opt for some sanity and try to have them asleep by 7 or so. Definitely worth a try though! [ Reply | More ]

op - try it. If your db is sleeping until 4:40, try putting them to bed an hour later and see if he doesn't adjust to waking at 5:40 [ Reply | More ]

op: thanks all. I should point out that a GOOD night is when he sleeps from 7:30-5:30. Last night it was from 7:30-4. He woke up hungry, so I nursed him and then basically held him in a body lock for half an hour until he fell back to sleep until 6:15. I keep hearing about dbs who sleep from 7-7. Who arethese lucky parents? Arrrghhhhhhh! [ Reply | More ]
