Does anyone know - where can I get information about Brooklyn Jewish schools? Since private schools are out for us (did not get accepted this year, and have no hope for next year), and out district public schools are horrible, I'm considering yeshivas. OP: May I ask - which yeshiva? We are not orthodox (in fact, my husband is not Jewish). And Flatbush Yeshiva told me that my family would probably not fit in there. But I'm very concerned about academics. [ Reply | More

Because I like the attention that a private school will provide (small classes, good teachers), and I do like that my daughter will learn some of her people's history and religion (something I won't be able to give her at home). The only caveat - I heard that teaching in other subjects is not that strong, so I'm wondering if I'll be disadvantaging her from the start... Oh, it's all so complicated. [ Reply | More

Is there anyway you could move? I mean it sounds like you were attempting the private route, so you must have resources. Unless you are super religious and want super religious dcs, I cannot imagine sending my dcs to yeshiva. [ Reply | More
