Any decorating savvy moms on here? Moving and need help on paint colors and suggestions for DS's room. What would you paint a 2-story entry foyer? Also, DS wants his room painted red. Can I do one wall this color? Put in a border at chair-rail height and do the bottom portion red, the top beige? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

That's what I was thinking of. So you think that would look OK? Any suggestions for the color red? I was thinking something more fun than a chair rail... found a border (usually goes in at ceiling height) with race cars on it, which he would go nuts for... [ Reply | More

Sure, you could do that; the only thing is, if you're thinking of moving anytime soon, chair rail is timeless, border is not (FWIW, we put a chair rail in the baby's room, but did a border for 4yo, but it was close to top of the room (didn't have the "I want red" issue -- tho when she saw her baby sister's room, she then wanted that instead, can't win) [ Reply | More
