39 weeks pg and feeling absolutely huge. I'm 1.5 cm dilated, but wondering if I'm crazy to try for a vbac still. Maybe I should just go for the scheduled C? I had to be induced last time at 42 weeks, why can't I just go into labor like almost everyone else???? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I skipped vbac, didn't want risk of uterine rupture. Why not go for scheduled C? [ Reply | More ]

op: I thought the risk of uterine rupture was only like 1.5% [ Reply | More ]

chance of rupture is very small. I am sure your OB has thoroughly examined you and is very very confident in vbac if she / he have told you you're good to go. Do what you are most comfortable with. A healthy baby and mom is the only necessary thing. [ Reply | More ]

np: a gree, if your OB is comfortable with VBAC she knows how to manage it and won't take risks. most of the stats on rupture don't separate out labor that was enhanced (pitocin) and wasn't, even though pitocin seems to clearly increase the risk. [ Reply | More ]

My vbac was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Wouldn't trade it for anything. [ Reply | More ]

you very well may go into labor. you aren't full term. i had to be induced at 41.5 weeks with my first. #2 came on her own, three days late. at 39 weeks i was maybe 1 cm. [ Reply | More ]

I was induced for my VBAC at 38.5 weeks or so. It was amazing--I had pitocin and it worked fine--healthy baby boy! Have you discussed the possibility of induction? My OB seemed to think my best chance for VBAC was if the baby was a week or so early, a little smaller and easier to deliver! Good luck! [ Reply | More ]
