Are you allowed to swim in a pool while recovering from childbirth? Considering renting a house w/a pool for a week while on maternity leave, then someone mentioned you can't submerge for 6 weeks pp..... anyone know? TIA [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

That is true, we had an event at the beach when db was about 5 weeks old, I called the OB to see if I could swim and she said no. [ Reply | More ]

I don't think so. Besides infection risk, you'd have the bleeding to worry about. I don't think tampons are okay either. [ Reply | More ]

I never heard this, though common sense is no pools while bleeding since you aren't supposed to wear tampons post-partum. I'd think if your bleeding has stopped it'd be ok to do whatever you want. [ Reply | More ]
