We are going to this time around, didn't for 3.4mo ds. OB's have mixed views. One sold me on it though when she said she wished she banked her 6yo son's blood for the future. We're doing it since the science is advancing SO rapidly, and more and more diseases are being identified which can be treated this way. Also, I like that it's potentially useable for the entire family. Basically another insurance policy. The dr's did say that if we're going to do it, do it w/a major player -- CBR or Viacord. yes, basically because we thought the cost was negligible when weighed against the possibility of being in a situation where we might have used it and thinking "I wish we had done that" [ Reply | More ]

OR: also, forgot to mention, I felt that it could be most useful in 10, 20, 30 years, and by then the no. of diseases it would cover would probably be SO many more, the way the research is expanding. [ Reply | More ]
