help, please. having some new sleeping issues with just-turned-2 ds; he's always been a great sleeper. for the past few weeks, he's been waking up earlier each day (today, we're down to 4:55), and just screaming to get out. In the past few days, he's also refusing to go down to sleep, again, screaming - no, no, and taking a long time to settle down. nothing changed during the day, he's in daycare, and takes a 2-2.5 hour nap there, generally. i am at my wits end, he's clearly tired in the evening, and while awake in the morning, getting really tired by lunch time. TIA. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Dos he need an earlier bedtime? The more tired my 2yo is the harder it is to get him to bed and the worse he sleeps. [ Reply | More ]

No to be honest that seems like a reasonable time. [ Reply | More ]

Our ped says that when DB is about to make a leap forward, they often go backwards. Maybe that's it ? Is there something he's on the cusp of ? [ Reply | More ]

i guess not so much worried, as the kid is clearly lacking sleep, and i dont know how to help him get there. cry it out doesnt seem to work, he literally yells for an hour and a half. each time. and i feel bad for dd, b/c he wakes her up so early in the morning, and she's suffering too. It's rough all around, but in the end he will sleep. We go through this over here too and I remember our dear ped's sage advice, "When they are tired they will sleep. When they are hungry they will eat. Your job is to keep them safe and love them." [ Reply | More ]
