It's changing because summer vacation just started, but generally it's this: Kids up between 8 and 9 (kids are 8, 5 and 3). DH or I serve breakfast. I do a bit of cleaning, then we get out of the house -- most days just the playground (will start the pool soon) but some days (at least 1 a week) we have a Grand Adventure, which just means a museum, or zoo or coney island. We eat lunch out on Grand Adventure days, but otherwise come home for lunch then we watch a movie for down time (sometimes the 3 yo will sleep then). Then if it's not too hot we go outside again -- either hang on the stoop and draw with chalk or hunt bugs or we go on a bike ride if we didn't do that in the am, or the playground. Then around 5 we come back in to cook dinner, and I open my first beer, LOL. DH home by 6:30 and he mostly handles bedtime. [ Reply | More ]

OP: Thanks for taking time to answer. You sound like an amazing mom. Honestly, do you ever feel seriously bored tho? I miss work. I love looking after my girls, but... [ Reply | More ]

almost every day, LOL. I talk to friends on the phone, ichat, email, etc. Even though I get bored every day, there is also something each day that I treasure and that I'm so glad I experienced (recently my 5 yo learned to ride his bike without training wheels before my 8 yo, who was so pissed she just jumped on his bike and rode it). I also remind myself that I got bored at work and suffered through horrific meetings, too [ Reply | More ]

2 dc (3 and 6 mo) - wake between 7-8. breakfast home, then usually out of the house by 10. park, class, beach, etc. home for lunch. then either backyard, pool, paint, make cookies, chalk on patio, etc (something @ home, since little one takes his only quality nap from about 2-5). 3 yo either watches a show or helps me with dinner. dh home by 6:30/7. we eat, bath, books, bed by 8:30/9. repeat (again and again) [ Reply | More ]
