my 10mo really loves his nanny. Its very sweet - she came this AM and he started kicking with excitement and then lay his head on her shoulder when she held him. That makes me happy. And sad at the same time. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

op: i'm more happy than sad, b/c he clearly knows I'm the mom and he does the same thing for me when I come home. I also know over the course of his life that I will always be his mom and I want him to be happy when I'm at work. But sometimes I have to tell myself this a few times in the car on the way to work in the AM. [ Reply | More

I know exactly what you mean, but now that my DD is 2.5 yo (and we've had the same nanny since she was 6 months), it is so wonderful that DD has another adult that she loves, and who loves her. I was a little jealous for a while, but even though DD spends more of her day with the nanny than with me, I'm still the mom and we both know that! [ Reply | More
