Hunter mom observation - I can barely think of a child who is not (1) an only or (2) a first born or (3) if has an older sib the older sib is also at hunter. Plenty of hunter kids with younger sibs at other schools. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Of course. I know four kids in my dcs public with siblings at Hunter. Such is life, it is not really a big deal. [ Reply | More ]

I know 3 sets of sibs at Hunter. They're now older, but started in K. [ Reply | More ]

3 sets is definitely not a lot compared to if it were a zoned school--where likely half of each class would have a younger or older sib. That is definitely not sibling preference [ Reply | More ]

Are you sure BOTH dc started in K? I know a few sets of sibs, but in each case one of the kids entered at a different point. One set, the first dc entered in pre-K and the other in K, the other 2 sets one dc entered in pre-K or K and the other one came in at the HS level. [ Reply | More ]

Does it matter whether they started in K or pre-K? [ Reply | More ]

Not sure what you mean does it matter? I only mention it because in the past you could try to get dc in for pre-K and if it didn't happen you got a second chance the next year. [ Reply | More ]
