I think you can allow yourself a glass of red wine now and again. [ Reply | More ]

I wouldn't, I was going to and researched it. There is increased risk of learning disabilities. I would feel awful if my kid ended up having ADD or something else, and would always wonder. Even in France now they are saying no alcohol at all while pregnant. I am in your boat though, 12w pregnant, really would love some wine. [ Reply | More ]

I thought the rule was after you hit the third trimester? That's where I am now, and I'm totally afraid of the thought. A drink is a drink, agreed. Is it really that serious? [ Reply | More ]

do the research yourself. I personally think that there is enough evidence that it is not good that I never would. I too heard about the French equivalent of the FDA say no alcohol at all during pregnancy. If the french are starting to abstain, so will I. So many people say "but they do this in Europe all the time". [ Reply | More ]

"French Ministry of Health, Youth & Sports recommends that pregnant women avoid drinking alcohol (National Program for Health and Nutrition / Programme National Nutrition Santé, PNNS)" I did not say that they do not do it, I said that their FDA was recommending that they don't. I don't always trust what US FDA says in regards to women's health, but when most other countries' officials agree, I'm going to go with it. For the record, studies say 48% of pregnant women in france abstain completely during pregnancy. [ Reply | More ]

Anyone who DOESNT need a glass a day while pregnant is too neurotic for me. Your child will thank you for not being one of "those" moms. [ Reply | More ]

I would not drink at all while pregnant. While you dc may be aok if you do, I always think about what their experience is when they ingest the alcohol. [ Reply | More ]
