My pediatrician keeps sending me bills for someone else's child. What's worse, they are filing with my insurance for this child as well. Since I am not paying the bills, they are refusing my appointments for my ds (whose account is current). This is insantiy and I can't seem to get anyone on the phone who will straighten it out! I've done that. The receptionist told me that they don't do billing. Billing is handled by a service in Delaware. And they can't show me another patient's file to prove that the patient has different parents/responsible party. [ Reply | More

It just gives you a paper trail to send to collection agency. You are in no way responsible for these bills. It should trigger an investigation by the billing company. I'm sure it is just a clerical error [ Reply | More

Call in the morning--your ped's office--and tell them unless this is straightened out by your ped's office, you will call the local news and report it, a la 7 on your side, etc. [ Reply | More

this reminds me of what happened at my dentist - they combined my record with someone else of the same age. I figured it out when the pulled out "my" xrays and you could see the person was wearing hoop earrings, which I haven't worn in years and years. Turns out she was 15 yrs old - I bet some of my info that was in her chart was surprising to her mom, including that she was pregnant!! [ Reply | More
