Do you pack your K DC lunch everyday? If so, what is on the weekly menu? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

np. I don't think it's crazy. Buy a dc a little thermous and send soup. What's the big deal? BTDT. [ Reply | More ]

I pack hot soup in a thermos for one DC. He actually eats it and that's huge for us. [ Reply | More ]

yes, and i always thought I would love to do this. My mom always packed great and creative lunches. I - however - have been blessed with children who eat pb & j or pb and honey, chips, and fruit leather. It is depressing. [ Reply | More ]

we ate everything. Cute sandwiches cut in shapes, fruit and fruit salads, she did "theme lunches" based on holidays and what we were studying. it was great, but my kids don't even try anything. [ Reply | More ]

HOLY SHIT. Your mom did "theme lunches" based on what you were studying? And you'd be up for doing that for your kids? This is so not something I aspire to. [ Reply | More ]

I think she was an over-achiever, but we loved the theme lunches. It was clever and made lunch interesting. i would do it too, but my DC won't go there yet. [ Reply | More ]

np. Google "obento" and you'll burst a vessel when you see what some mothers do with their dc's school lunches. An example: http://tinyurl.com/6km4th Scroll down to the kitty on its back - that's my favorite. [ Reply | More ]

"Depressing" is having a sick child who needs to learn how to give himself shots 3x daily. Count your blessings you ungrateful wench. [ Reply | More ]

Not OR, but wow. That sounds really awful. So sorry. I hope your kid gets healthy real soon and that you stop lashing out at people. [ Reply | More ]

The pharmacy just called to say that your scrip is finally ready which was weird because just minutes after that your mom called to say that she never liked you as much as your sister. [ Reply | More ]

Yes. It's a nut-free school, so we do sunflower seed butter & jelly sandwiches sometimes. Sometimes ham & swiss or turkey & avocado. Sometimes black beans & rice in a thermos, sometimes huhmus & pita. Along with that we send some sort of veggie, fresh fruit and milk. We're lucky to have a kid who eats everything. [ Reply | More ]

DS is happy with PBJ, some carrots, a fruit, some "crisps" (Snap-peas). But I've been experimenting with bentos to get more variety in there. The results are hit or miss, but if I put in something Asian-flavored (tofu w/ oyster sauce, pork buns, pot stickers) he'll eat that. [ Reply | More ]
