Does anyone know if it's true that the same thing has happened at PS 41 and 3 that happened at PS 234. That not every family in the catchment zone got a spot and some are now being assigned to random schools anywhere in the district? I have a friend who says she knows more than one family in this situation, but I haven't heard it from anywhere else. Can anyone verify? this is what i heard. i don't think anyone is being sent to a random school. don't forget 3 has more slots this year because they aren't taking dcs from out of the zone (they typically took quite a few). and this includes dcs in pre-k who thought once they were in, they were in. fwiw, everyone i know who fc'd 41 got in. this is the case with the chinatown schools since many are pretty close by. at least principal of 130 tells you this-don't know anyone personally this happened to though [ Reply | More

The only thing I have read about 234 was a NY Times article saying some potential K kids MAY not be admitted. Do you have facts that kids are actually being sent to other schools? [ Reply | More
