PSA: Posting the number of students accepted to top colleges mens NOTHING if you don't post the number of students graduating overall in that class. Dalton has 127 dcs and 5 go to Yale but SS has 50 dcs and 5 go to Yale - see the difference? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

oooohhhh. Whatever. My high school class had 5 go to Yale, 580 people in the class. Does that matter? But there were like 5 to every ivy school, duke, stanford, etc. So there. [ Reply | More ]

'so there'? 580 and only five to every ivy that is pretty a$$ poor in comparison to 50 dcs in a class 5 of whom go to yale 3 to princeton, 2 to harvard and one each to every other ivy college and the rest to top 20. So...medication for you? or just an abacus? [ Reply | More ]

np: But then again, I think comparing highly selective private school with suburban private HS which takes everyone who lives in the town is misleading. Half of those kids will not apply anywhere but community colleges or nearest state university. [ Reply | More ]

the whole thing really means nothing if you have the mindset that only 5 colleges matter. there are dozens of excellent colleges and universities and you have no idea where any of these kids applied, so it all really means nothing. Some kids actually only want to go to small liberal arts colleges and don't bother to apply to HYP even though they may well have been accepted had they applied. [ Reply | More ]

Dalton kids are more arty fartsy as some have said. They're more creative and many pursue creative fields. [ Reply | More ]

If that were true of all school stereotypes every Chapin girl would go to Bryn Mawr and every Brearley girl to RISD [ Reply | More ]
