Did you gain any weight in the first trimester? I gained 4 pounds and my doctor sort of gave me a hard time about it! [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I agree... everything I've read says average gain is 2-3 Ibs. 4 is not off, considering you're clothed and weighing at different times of the day. [ Reply | More

Seriously? For four lousy pounds? Not nice of OB to give you a hard time about that. I gained 12 lbs in the first tri--which is more than average--and went on to have slower weight gain the rest of pregnancy. My final weight gain before baby arrived was around 35 lbs, which is more or less normal. I suggest you don't worry about the weight too much; eat healthfully when you're hungry and exercise. The rest is up to mother nature. And if this comment from your md bugs you enough, consider finding a new doc. [ Reply | More
