I just had to laugh. I was scrolling down the page and noticed in the school uniform thread that someone claims another mom's child will have a boatload of issues because that mom allows her dd to wear her princess costume when they're out & about. Sometimes I think people forget how idiotic they sound here! [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

No, read it again, the woman accused ME (OP of thread) of giving my dc boatload of issues because I don't want dd to walk outside in her princess costume. [ Reply | More ]

Do not remember where the costume part started. Some woman flamed me and told me I 'sucked' because I didn't want my dd to pull out her new school uniform every day and wear it al day long as she had been doing. Somehow that turned into costumes... [ Reply | More ]

dd went through a time when she never dressed in "normal" clothes. wherever she went, she wore dress-up clothes. [ Reply | More ]

My DD went through a princess phase. She loved going outside in her costume. No big deal. I decided a long time ago that it is easier on everyone if she wins some of the little battles once in a while. That way she knows that her opinion counts and I always win the big ones. [ Reply | More ]

np: I don't agree that you should let your dcs decide what they want to wear everyday or let them wear 'whatever they want' but there is no harm in it I guess if you want to. Just a personal preference [ Reply | More ]

In all fairness to No Uniform Mom, maybe it is more annoying after a couple of days to have DD out and about in her uniform during the summer than dressed as a butterfly. My brother was Superman for years, so I'm prepared for the princess phase. [ Reply | More ]
