I didn't take them there, but I think that birthing classes generally are kind of a waste of time. [ Reply | More ]

we took classes at realbirth. my husband (a physician) thought we could have gotten the same info elsewhere in less time, and he was probably right. but i liked being around other expecting couples and comparing experiences. it actually made me feel really sane because i wasn't nearly as worried as some of the other moms! who was your teacher there? I've heard some are better than others. [ Reply | More ]

chantal was our teacher and we liked her a lot. she may not be teaching for a while, though, because she was 38 wks pg herself when the class ended! we had to change classes one night for scheduling reasons and had catherine, who we did not like AT ALL. had to stop dh from walking out during the break. I took them and picked up some pointers, but looking back, not sure I needed to spend that much time on them. The infant care and breastfeeding are things you can also get in the hospital after you give birth - they have them a few times a week right in the maternity ward. [ Reply | More ]

I just wanted to be prepared, so the childbirth class was good for that. In the end I wound up with a c-section anyway. Figures. [ Reply | More ]

I thoroughly enjoyed our birthing class....we were the 8pm Thursday night crowd ....professionals. Our teacher (shelly, sherry?) was informative and incredibly funny. I learned alot about anatomy and the birth process and DH and I had a nice bonding epxerience...and met some nice couples. [ Reply | More ]
