Is there a Food Emporium out there? There's a Citarella in East Hampton, just a ferry ride away, but not sure they would do character cakes [ Reply | More ]

okay, if you're really desparate, you can make one. this is not the choice for everyone b.c it will take you some serious time. best bet is to find a wilton cake pan w/ the dora design online and order it overnight delivery. in fact, if you can order the relevant frosting colors along with, this will be huge. Then bake it and follow the directions to frost it. If you can't find the stuff, get a rectangular pan, look up a pic of dora, get some dark colored icing, put in a plastic bag, snip off the tip, draw the outline of her body, and then if by some miracle there is a store w. different colored frostings or food dyes, use that to color her in appropriately. frost the rest of the cake in plain white. good luck! can you go to noggin.com? my son was watching a craft on there the other day and they were making a dora cake and it actually looked pretty easy - i don't think you would have to buy anything too special. [ Reply | More ]
