maybe not what you want to hear, but our ped said to wait until at least 3 yrs as below that a child accnot really handle it. Friends disagreed and did the swim stuff. One day after many many many lessons, their child jumped in the pool and our friend watched to see how well he would swim... sunk like a stone. They called us right afterwards to tell us that the lessons gave their child a false sense of security. Just be very very careful. [ Reply | More
