can anyone recommend any reasonably priced hotels? Preferably midtown, or anywhere on the West side? Anyone know anything about the Red Roof Inn in the 30's? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I was looking ast month and saw great rates at the Hudson Hotel. It's a beautiful, boutique hotel on 59th and 9th Ave. I think the rooms are super small, but beautiful. They have some chic restaurants and bars in there and it's fairly new, i want to say built in the last 7 or 8 years. Go to their site, i was quoted from $210-$249 a night. That was the lowest of anywhere around! [ Reply | More ]

My relatives stay at the Beacon on Broadway across from Fairway. The rooms are big and clean. Some of the rooms have a little kitchenette in them. It's not fancy but it works. [ Reply | More ]

Ditto this. Decent location, decent hotel, my parents have stayed there. Good neighborhood. Also try On the Avenue boutique hotel in the same area. [ Reply | More ]

Check nymag.com, they have something like "hotels under $150" or something like that. We stayed at a nice, euro-style place when our heat was out-- less than $200 for a suite because we booked online. [ Reply | More ]

the Belleclaire on 78th & B'way is usually around $200/night. Some of the rooms are tiny, but its a good deal. Also try the Excelsior on 79th and Columbus. [ Reply | More ]

i was looking at nyc vacation rental listings on craigslist recently, as many people are listing studio and 1brs nightly/weekly there. I saw some adorable $130-$225 listings. Check it out. There's a particularly cute on on Houston &6th Ave. [ Reply | More ]

There's also the Leo on W23St gallery district; it's very popular with visiting artists. [ Reply | More ]

Hotwire is good for this sort of thing. I just did a quick search and pricing ranged from 142 to 212 per night. [ Reply | More ]
