Two months in suburbs, first deer tick on DS last night. DH pulled it out intact. Now what? If he doesn't get a bullseye rash, then he's fine? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Thanks. A little terrified, I had Lyme disease that went undiagnosed when I was in college and I almost died (no joke, had heart complications, was in hospital for ages and almost got a pacemaker). Will call ped on Monday. [ Reply | More ]

You don't necessarily get a rash if you get Lyme's. I'd contact your a pedi and see what they suggest. They may want to do a test just in case. [ Reply | More ]

I will definitely call. Very hard to be rational after what I went through, I need to get a grip. [ Reply | More ]

No, you're fine. I can understand where you are coming from. Chances are that your dc (even if he does have Lyme's) will not go through what you did at all. Did they not diagnose you right away? Good luck. [ Reply | More ]

No, I must have been bitten while at my parents' house for the weekend. Was in NYC, so doctors just kept thinking I had the flu for months on end. Finally was so weak I could not turn a doorknob with one hand. One day I actually got lost on my way home from class, could not remember how to get back to the dorm. Called my mother from a pay phone, collect. Parents came to get me, their doctor knew right away what it was. 6 months of IV antibiotics (had a port in my chest), over a year of physical therapy. But you are absolutely right - DS will get immediate treatment, it will be just fine. Thanks. [ Reply | More ]
