My three year old ds had a terrible first year of preschool. I was planning to have him try again with another teacher since he seemed to clash with this one. maybe he's too young? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Won't he naturally get a new teacher in the fall? My kids had new teachers each year, one in the toddler year, one in the 3s and one in the 4s [ Reply | More ]

BTDT, don't send him back. If you stay at home its ok. Look into the program at Chelsea Piers. Its called Champs and he will probably love it. You can do that two or three days a week (or up to five). He doesn't have to do preschool and its not worth the stress on a three year old. You might want to read Preschoolers at Risk and The Hurried Child if you are into reading parenting/child books. [ Reply | More ]

Also, BTDT, and we switched schools. It's not totally and completely impossible and the above poster had a good suggestion about looking into preschool alternatives. Much better to have your dc's first school experience be a positive one, and even the places like Chelsea Piers or Kidville will do a good job of socializing your dc, which is the main point of preschoo. We were also in a Montessori program, by the way. Great for some dc's but just not a good fit for others. [ Reply | More ]
