I think District 2 is considering revising their zoning, so think carefully before you move somewhere, if you're trying to get into a good zone --- no guarantees. [ Reply | More ]

Which part of the city do you want/need to be in? [ Reply | More ]

mainly i want to be where there is a good public school as my first priority, but i'd also like to be somewhere pretty, convenient with nice parks to bring dc's and go for runs (that's just my wishlist....lol) other than that it doesn't really matter. [ Reply | More ]

it doesn't work that way, unfortunately. you must have proof of residence before they will tell you if there's a spot or not. [ Reply | More ]

not true. obviously they can't guarantee it will still be there but theyh can tell you if there is a spot. [ Reply | More ]

are you talking about after the school year starts? like, someone moves and there's suddenly a slot? because they won't tell you prior to registration. [ Reply | More ]

no, i've called some schools and they've told me whether or not there were spots as of now. [ Reply | More ]

they're really not as different as you might think. 3 has mixed-age classes and is slightly more progressive in its philosophy. it also has more laid-back parents for the most part. other poster is right that you will probably be assigned to one or the other, so make sure you like both. how old is dc? DC is going to be 5 this summer so we need K for fall. [ Reply | More ]

oh. it's a little late in the game then. i wouldn't count on getting a slot at an oversubscribed school. certainly not 41. [ Reply | More ]

why is 41 the more popular of the two? [ Reply | More ]
