Anyone been to a bday party at the McBurney Y? Or any other city Y? I'm looking into it for my dc 4th bday. They have the gym party with arts and crafts table, blow up jumping house, hula hoops, balls and nets. I think the kids will be fine just doing as they please for 45 min to an hour. WDYT? I went to one and it was fine. They also provided dancing to kiddie songs with an instructor, etc. The bouncy castle was a hit. I'm all for not spending a fortune and just letting dcs have fun. [ Reply | More

it was very low-key/no-frills, but there's plenty of space for dcs to run around and the toys and the bouncy house, and there are a few staff people herding the dcs from activity to activity, engaging them in stuff to do, etc. at that age you don't need anything more. [ Reply | More

we did one at the chinatown y-it was fun. you can go as exp as you want-ours ended up being about 600 or 700 with bouncy houses, etc. can go higher or lower depending on how much stuff you want. plus, they give you a ton of space [ Reply | More
