I don't know, but if you don't get an answer a good predictor is if the schools get the jewish holidays too... Where I grew up was about 20% jewish and we did... I suppose though that depends on your definition of predominately. [ Reply | More

schools closing for the Jewish holidays has more to do with the makeup of the faculty than anything else. If too many teachers will be out, then there is no point in opening the schools, regardless of the population of the student body. [ Reply | More

no, almost none of my teachers were jewish, so I doubt that was the reason.. Looking back, it's odd how few of my teachers were jewish considering the population... [ Reply | More
