No she said she wanted me to have custody. She made it very easy, she just said she wanted a divorce as quick as possible. I asked her to try counseling or something and she said no she wanted to move. [ Reply | More

how old are they? It is absolutely normal for them to get upset on occasion, you just have to reassure them that YOU won't ever leave them, and that their mom still loves them. Do they have any relationship with her? Are they old enough to understand why she left? [ Reply | More

They are 9 and 7. I keep tellig them that I will never leave them and that their Mom loves them. They talk to her on the phone and see her 4 times a year. I think they understand what happened, but am not sure. They don't know all of hte details. I never speak bad of her in front of them. [ Reply | More

I have been very very careful of that. I only say positive things about her in front of them. It's been hard, but luckily some buddies of mine and I go out once a week, and I use that time to vent about her if I need to. [ Reply | More

There is nothing more you can do. They will always have abandonment issues, and don't be surprised if they resent their mom more and more as they grow up, but it sounds like you're a great dad.
