Anyone have no or minimal life insurance? My DH thinks $350k. is plenty (we currently have one million for 2 kids) and he wants to terminate our $650 policy because it is "throwing money away" [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

sorry to say, but I agree with your DH, as long as you have a will that appoints a guardian who, presumably, would have the financial resources to take care of your kids. And as long as either of you could support the kids if the other were to die. [ Reply | More

I'm a SAHM too, and my dh insists that we keep life insurance on me too, b/c if I died, he would quit his very stressful time consuming but well-paying job for a job with better hours and presumably lower pay so he could be with our dcs. [ Reply | More

Do either of you have a policy though your work as well? I would think that one million is the bare minimum especially if you would get taxed. We have one policy for 600,000 through Dh's work (untaxed)one policy through my work 300,000(untaxed) and an addional 1mil policy that would be taxed [ Reply | More
