4.5yo has gotten into habit of coming into our room during the night, wants to sleep with us b/c she's scared (we moved fairly recently, and she's afraid of her room/her closet). The interrupted sleep is just killing us. Other than locking her into her room (not willing to do), locking her out of ours (can't b/c she'll wake the baby), and letting her sleep in our bed (or one of us going to sleep in her bed), what can we do so she stops this behaviour? Get a 'special' lock for the closet that she can lock before she goes to bed that will keep all the scary things inside until morning. [ Reply | More ]

get a kid's flashlight that works when you push the button (so she doesn't fall asleep with it on and burn a set of batteries every night.) Let her go to sleep with it so she can keep an eye on the closet. Leave the closet door open. [ Reply | More ]
