2.5yo we are only just starting really but he is pretty good with peeing and happily goes to the toilet. Pooping he refuses to even try. [ Reply | More

How old? In general, put on underwear, move all pullups/diapers from view, and tell him that from now on, poop goes in the potty. Count on a few accidents [ Reply | More

He's 2.4. He's wearing underwear all day, but diapers for naps/night, so he either waits to poop in a diaper, or yesterday, pooped in his underwear and was SO upset even though I was fine about it. Would love to avoid that again. [ Reply | More

you can't...all or nothing imo. If he gets upset when he has a poop accident, he will try hard to not let it happen again [ Reply | More

we just took it easy. ds would ask for diapers when he wanted to poop and we would oblige. After about 6 months of this (from 2.4-2.10) we finally decided to offer rewards for pooping on the potty and he did it pretty much immediately [ Reply | More
