nanny is getting fired tomorrow. paying her an extra week sound good? she's only been with us for 1 month. she kind of sucks. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

so many reasons: can't control the kids, doesn't engage with them, makes unsafe decisions (leaving windows open over arm chairs so 2 yo dd climbs up and starts to crawl into open 2nd story window space), doesn't lock the doors when she leaves, opens windows open when the a/c is on, doesn't always serve them what I ask her to serve for meals, doesn't tell the truth about where she takes dd during the day, takes dd shopping, loses dd's shoes in random places she takes her shopping..... I could continue, but she's starting to annoy me now just thinking about her. BTW she had GREAT references. [ Reply | More

np: i always err on the side of giving more severance, but she sounds terrible! i'd probably still try to do two weeks if you can, just because it will take her time to find a new job. i'd be so pissed if i were you, i'd want to call back the references and yell at them. [ Reply | More
