We expecting an au pair in the Fall. WWYD? Give her the large room over the garage which we currently use as an office/playroom/music room/guest room or the relatively small guest room which has room for only a bed, nightstand and dresser? The large room is on the opposite end of the house from the master BR and a person in one room can't hear a person in the other. The smaller room is not far from the master BR and a person in one room might be able to hear a person in the other, if that person were to, say, moan loundly. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

give her the extra space in all senses of the word. She'll be with you for a year, she/you will want the distance. An au pair is not a 24/7 on-call nanny. [ Reply | More ]

Also, if you can you should give her her own bathroom. [ Reply | More ]

Tell DH to keep his moaning down when he's with the au pair so you can sleep [ Reply | More ]

The one far away from you. If you give her a tiny room, she'll be in your living room all the time, or gone from the house. You should give her personal space. [ Reply | More ]
