Etiquette questions - do you write thank you notes for baby gifts people bring to your house? Before you flame me know that the reason I ask is that Miss Manners says if you thank someone in person (other than at a shower) a note is not necessary, and I generally abide by that. that's the rule I've heard and definitely when it comes to baby gifts and you are dealing with new baby, sore boobs, and no sleep.....who wants to write a thank you note anyhow! they are really confirmations of receipt than anything. [ Reply | More

I think thank you notes should be written to the gift givers. I normally don't write t/u to my immediate family or closest friends though (we have an agreement). [ Reply | More

What I did was order doubles of all my pictures. After you take out some for the grandparents, some for keeping, etc... you always have some extras that are decent pictures. Use a Sharpie and write a note on the back of the picture. [ Reply | More
