We had a colapsible one that sat ontop of a regular toilet and fit in a large ziploc bag. Got it at B,B&B. [ Reply | More ]

BTW, You are always in distance of a restroom in NYC. Please don't get one of those potties people take out on the sidewalk. That is so gross. [ Reply | More ]

ITD. a lot of playgrounds don't hahve them (and in CP they are surprisingy few adn far between). especialy if you ahve more thanone kid, its a pain to have to pack everything up and schlep to the bathroom. [ Reply | More ]

Well, sometimes kids do have accidents early on because of this. I agree. But then they learn to not wait till the last second to tell you, or they do go before you go to CP. It's not a bad lesson for kids to learn- that there isn't always a bathroom. Other than a few playgrounds I can't think of anyplace that is not near a bathroom. [ Reply | More ]

when we are at the playground, we are a few blocks from a public restroom. my dd has JUST started using the potty after being traumatized by it, and if she can't hold it until we get to a borders or wherever, i would rather her be able to use a portable potty behind a tree. this is not really that complicated. I guess that is why they make them. I just think they are gross. I would rather have had my dd have an accident and learn to hold it for a few minutes or go before we left home. [ Reply | More ]

you don't seem to understand. this has been a very hard process for my dd. an accident would really upset her, and set her back, and i don't want to risk that. i agree, they are not so pleasant, but i'd rather be not pleasant that upset my dd when there are other options available. she does go before she leaves home, but if we are out for the morning, that's a long time for her to hold it. i am trying to make this process as easy as possible on her, not you. ^^and she has initiated using the potty all of a sudden, after a lot of worry about it - we are not pushing her. [ Reply | More ]

^^ and on top of all this, i have an infant as well, so the whole process of getting to a bathroom is even more complicated. so, before you pass judgment, please realize that there may be other reasons that you don't know about for a poster asking a question. [ Reply | More ]

We have the Potette - used it 3x in the past 3 months. Just a good back-up to have - just in case. [ Reply | More ]

I always double check that the stand is correctly in place, but it seems sturdy enough. Also collapses flat so can be easily stored in the stroller/diaper bag. [ Reply | More ]

You're welcome. BTW, I think it's more gross to have a child go in their pants (as above poster suggests) than to discretely use a little potty in the corner of a playground or behind a tree. [ Reply | More ]

We also have the Potette-- much better to have a kid go outside than have an accident in their pants, then go home hysterical and screaming all the way. [ Reply | More ]
