SAHMs who have hired someone to watch baby one day/week: What benefits do you provide? I want to be fair, but also want to keep expenses from spiraling out of control. I plan on paying $15/hr, but not sure whether I should pay for days I don't have the person work (because I'm on vacation, etc.); what about paid vacation for them, paid sick days, etc?) Thank you!!! If you want her to stay with you for just one day/week you should pay her even if it is a holiday or you are on vacation and don't need her to come in. If she is going away I would not pay her for the day, but offer for her to make up the day another day that week. I would pay her if she is sick, but work out how many sick days per year.
