how many spots in 1st grade of NEST? I heard lots of parents pulled their kids from NEST to local Gen ed after finishing K, so it should have some spots in 1st grade, right? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

seems weird since no other g&t had to counsel out so many. i think this says more about the school (and their overly rigid teaching methods) than about the dcs. i mean, "not up to snuff" with regards to their behavior?? yuck. [ Reply | More

Again, this is a post giving false information. I have a child who just finished K this year and I don't know of anyone who is not coming back. There is seriously someone out there who has an axe to grind regarding this school and I don't care what the reason is but its just wrong to delibrately disseminate false information. There are plenty of good people who have kids in that school and plenty of good people who have kids that will be going to this school. [ Reply | More

I think that by bashing another school you guys aren't helping any. Can we all just stop bashing schools? I don't mind reading about how happy someone is that their kid got into a certain school but it really sickens me to see statements like the above. I have friends whose kids went to LL and they said that school was awesome. I have friends with kids in schools all over the city and everyone wants to love and support their child's school. So can we just all stop. I am a NEST mom and I can tell you everyone (that I know of) finishing up K this year was happy and is coming back. So are people saying that kids with behavior issues are to be shut out of Gifted and Talented programs? Don't these kids deserve to be worked with too? If that becomes the case we should change the name of the proram to the "Wonderful and Delightful" program only for wonderful and delightful kids. Kids with any behavioral issues need not apply.
