Can anyone recommend a "Vaccine Friendly" prediatrician in Manhattan? I am not anti-vaccine, but I would like to make a few adjustments to the schedule after reading the Dr Sears book...such as delaying a few and splitting some up. The few drs I've called refuse to accomodate this and I feel helpless with this important decision considering there is autism and autoimmune disorders in our families. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I've never heard of a doctor refusing, especially if there is a family history to worry about [ Reply | More ]

sure, my old ped would kick you out of the practice because they don't want to endanger other patients in the waiting room [ Reply | More ]

We went to an immunologist at Col. Presbyterian for DB (he had some immunity issues, so we went to get a full work-up). There are a lot of different types of immunity problems, and DB's turned out to be helped by getting his vaxes (but one at a time, so we could track his immune response). Our ped did exactly what the immunologist recommended. [ Reply | More ]

Dr. Hops is our dr too. Has never even blinked at my desires for vaccines. She's fine if we do them, fine if we don't, and will give her own opinion if and when I ask for it. [ Reply | More ]

Thanks for the recommendations, but so far no luck with any of these who take Aetna insurance. Any other recommendations would be greatly welcomed! [ Reply | More ]
