This seems early. My 8 mo is already throwing a fit if he doesn't get what he wants. If he wants my cell phone (all the time) or remote control (daily) and I don't give it too him, he shrieks. I always maintained (before I had kids, hah!) that I'd never be one of THOSE parents. But more often than not, I just hand him my cell phone or whatever else he's begging for. How do I nip this in the bud? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Tell him NO and take it away. Let him yell. [ Reply | More ]

decide if it's really worth denying him (ie it's something dangerous for him to play with). if it is, tell him no and explain why. try distracting with something else. [ Reply | More ]

my 7mo has started to get testy if i take away a toy he is playing with (or a cell ohone). If it's no big deal I give it back, if it is a take it away and he usually settled down quickly. [ Reply | More ]
