My MIL buys my DD the ugliest, cheapest clothes. I have nothing against cheap, actually. I love Old Navy and Target, but let's just say we do not have the same taste. (If you saw the florescent Elmo poncho sweater, you'd know what I mean.) What should I do? Let her keep buying the stuff because it makes her happy, even if we don't use it? It's such a waste of money. 80% goes to the Salvation Army. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

You should have him call her up and say, "Ma, look, no way are we putting DD in this ugly ass Elmo poncho. You can shove it up your ass, for all we care!" [ Reply | More ]

More like Sears, I think. We've told her a few times to shop at chains like Gap, Old Navy, Gymboree (so I can exchange easily if there's a "size issue"), but she [ Reply | More ]

My MIL and nanny do the same thing. I've let it go. DD wears the crap during the day when I'm at work. Also, many of those clothes go to preschool as "emergency outfits." I don't stress if they go MIA. [ Reply | More ]
