wwyd? we registered dd for summer camp and just found out that she is one of two girls in a group that has 15 boys. this imbalance feels really just not right. i'm trying to contact the camp to see if not too late for a refund, but they don't open until july. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

yes, i think it's 6 weeks. i was just hoping that it'd be 6 weeks that she would really enjoy. there was a similar imbalance in her class this past year (11 boys and 4 girls), and she was really unhappy about this. [ Reply | More

if the camp is an extension of her preschool, why would you have expected the numbers to be any different? you should have asked about this in advance [ Reply | More

because it's a totally different (mostly new) group of kids. none of the kids from her class are in the camp fwiw. [ Reply | More

my ds spent a year in kindergarden with 4 boys and 13 girls. He made it through just fine. Life isn't always going to be completely gender balanced [ Reply | More

maybe give it a chance? I would have been thrilled to be one of only two girls; so would my dd (and in fact she was one of 5 girls in a class of 20 but obviously that's not quite the same). I don't think it's so horrible, esp given her age. [ Reply | More
