Need to do CIO soon with db #2. Question is how I explain it to older dc (3.5yrs old). She gets distressed when she hears him cry. I'll try to take her out, and leave DH for the CIO (or vice versa) most of the time. Any tips here? TIA. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Our DCs share a room. We moved older DC into our room with a white noise machine and told him the baby was having a hard time falling asleep and might cry for a bit. That seemed to do it for us. [ Reply | More ]

What about for nap training? Was older dc around those days? How long did it take? [ Reply | More ]

We didn't do it for naps....those sorted themselves out on their own. Took about a week to work out at night--crying about 30 min the first (worst) night. [ Reply | More ]

Thanks. I might take older dc for a walk that first night, and hope that the next few nights are not as tough. [ Reply | More ]
