Potty training question: sometimes ds wants to bring milk / snack to the potty. He's only been training 2 - 3 weeks. Should I discourage that b/c it's a bad habit, or ignore for now and just focus on him going on the potty? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

not a good habit. Can you try to exchange a book or toy for the food/milk? Also not great, but it got my ds to go. How old is he? [ Reply | More ]

2. He does read the books on the potty & they are mainly potty books. The milk is only an issue in the morning b/c I try to get him to go shortly after waking and he's very cranky w/o the milk [ Reply | More ]

Heee-heee, the little weasel lugs both in there - the stuffed dog and the milk! Thanks for trying :-) [ Reply | More ]

I would discourage on sanitary issues alone. [ Reply | More ]

You're right, I should just say no, even if it slows down his progress a little. [ Reply | More ]
