my 7.5 month old dd has had a fever all day. acetaminophen helps bring it down, but it doesn't completely go away. we have an appt with the pedi tomorrow because a friend came over this weekend who unknowingly had strep and I think that's what dd has. i put her to bed early (we live in europe) because she's hasn't really slept all day or last night, but she only slept for 10 minutes and then started crying. so, should i let her cry until she falls asleep? she's been crying for about 30 minutes now. i can't just hold her all night - she needs to sleep right???? this is the first time she's ever been sick, so i'm feeling a bit lost. OP: good lord, i'm not letting her cry it out. i'm just trying to figure out a way to get her to sleep. and i'm not worried about napping. i just asked for some advice, not to be criticized. [ Reply | More ]

chill out. I'm not criticizing. Just expressing my POV. I'll write it off to your being tired and worried. When an infant is sick, you just do what you can to get her to sleep and rest. Sounds like you are doing that [ Reply | More ]

It really sounds like you are letting her cio in your OP. Nobody is being mean, just trying to help. [ Reply | More ]

it's probably strepp throat. poor darling. i would hold her she's sick, make sure to give lots of fluids and monitor her closely. GL! [ Reply | More ]

Actually, my ped said that babies don't typically get strep and that it's rare to see it in a kid under 3--- they natuarlly fight it off well until they get older. [ Reply | More ]
