I read here Trinity accepts connected kids for LS (don't need very high ERBs) and recruit A LOT of smart kids for HS and these kids boost their college exmissions. Is that true for other TTs? What % of the smart kids at TT HS are Lifers? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

It's what I always heard. They bring in the ringers at upper school and it gives their college exmissions and extra boost. dalton does it too fwiw [ Reply | More ]

Trinity adds 60 new kids for HS. Dalton only adds 20 new kids. [ Reply | More ]

Dalton adds quite a few kids as the years go on - not necessarily just for HS. [ Reply | More ]

Small numbers, I read. Nothing like 60 that Trinity admits. [ Reply | More ]

No, not 60. But if everyone at Dalton K stayed to graduate, they would still add 20 kids (90 in at K; around 110 in graduating class). And from K-9, Dalton probably loses 10-15 kids? So maybe around 30-35 added....But I'm not there so this is all a guess. [ Reply | More ]

I read they added 20 kids to HS at D. Maybe few into MS but something like 6 or so. [ Reply | More ]

It is not true for any of them - however, for most of them there are times when money or something else trumps smarts and this is true at all levels of admissions. But by and large the dc entering Trinity in K are very smart. [ Reply | More ]

How in the world would one figure out WHO the smart kids are, much less how many of them there are, much less how many were at the school from K? [ Reply | More ]

If one had to guesstimate, top 10% of the class is made up of how many lifers and how many fresh blood. 50/50? [ Reply | More ]

But how would you even know who makes up the top 10% of a class? [ Reply | More ]

Most of the dcs in my graduating class at TT were lifers, same with my sister's class, brother class, and my nephews class. I think your theory may be flawed [ Reply | More ]

Trinity doubles at high school, so, by default, you observation can't be true. And this has been ging on for a long time. [ Reply | More ]

I'm at Dalton. Whenever a kid has been added, the kid's been very smart, and often very smart with a special talent. [ Reply | More ]
