have to admit, I signed up to be an active member of the PTA at my daughter's preschool, have been sucked into doing a LOT of volunteering for them next year and unfortunately, I am so done with living in Manhattan. I just want to pick up and leave. I hate the fact that I will not be living up to my pledge to do all of this stuff if we find a house in the fall. I will do what I have to, and then move on. This totally sucks, but I am totally not cut out for the competitive Manhattan school thing. For god's sake, even the public schools are full of it! I'm just so tired of it. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

why did you volunteer in the first place. it makes it really hard for those who did make the commitment. i work full-time and always make is crystal clear that I can only dedicate a limited amount of time. the other mom's understand that and we work accordingly. [ Reply | More
