Potty Training Question: Our dd is now using the potty pretty regularly, but definitely needs diapers at night still. But she still wants to get out of bed and use the potty (almost as a way of prolonging going to sleep.) What do we do? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Make going to the potty part of her bedtime routine and explain that once you put the diaper on, she can't get out of bed to go potting before falling asleep. How old is she? [ Reply | More

thanks, that's what we're starting to do, and we've explained that at nighttime she has diapers on and it's ok to pee in them. but i imagine it's a confusing process for her! this has only developed in the past few days, also. (she's 2.11) [ Reply | More

I think she can get it. I think that you tell her that if she falls asleep and wakes up at night, that she can go potty but right before bed, only one trip to the potty. Is she still in a crib? [ Reply | More

yep, still a crib. so would you keep diapers on her at night, then? and let her get up in the middle of the night to go to the potty? (honestly, she seemed so NOT into the potty as of a week ago, i never expected to be here right now asking about this!) [ Reply | More
