where did you get your info from? I remember at a tour I did at NEST we were told that there was no busing. But then the DOE letters say that there will be intra-borough busing for citywide schools. [ Reply | More

The 5-mile route thing is true. It's in Chancellor's Regs A-801 section 4, I think. We tried to challenge it at another school and couldn't, so we bring our dd to the closest bus stop to us and feel lucky we have something. [ Reply | More

My experience with the DOE is that they are refusing to provide busing outside the 5 limit. This policy makes no sense at the citywides - Anderson, NEST and TAG - of course, since many come from more than 5 miles. The DOE doesn't want to spend the money since they prefer to spend the money on expensive boondoggles like their big computer system and an army of private consultants. [ Reply | More
