My ds's bday party will be in August. Do I really still need to invite his entire class from last year? Or just those kids who he was particularly close to plus his other (neighborhood) friends? At what point in the summer does the "whole class" rule change? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I have been wondering the same. I invited the whole class to dc's party in July. I think unless you are doing all boys or all girls you should invite the whole class regardless of date in the summer. People will be hurt/offended if their dc is not invited, unless you do just a few friends. [ Reply | More ]

but most of the kids are going off to Kindergarten in another town. It's starting to get silly to try to continue to perpetuate that false friendship that came with being in the same preschool class. [ Reply | More ]

I agree with you, but unless you are doing a small party with just a few kids I still think you should invite the class. Think of it as an excuse to get together as a group one last time. If you offend people by not inviting them it will only make you look bad. Is that worth it? Plus, I would bet a lot of people decline the invitation if they are not true friends of yours anyway.
